Shane Sagraves, a 6-year-old Columbus, Ohio resident diagnosed with autism and the rare Kawasaki disease, takes the oath of enlistment as an Honorary Ohio Air National Guardsman in the 121st Air Refueling Wing at Rickenbacker Air National Guard base in Columbus, Ohio, on August 22, 2018. Shane and the rest of his family were hosted by the 121st ARW for “Pilot for a Day”, which gives kids and teens with a chronic or life threatening illness a chance to experience a day in the life of an Air National Guardsman. Shane’s busy day included a tour of the KC-135 Stratotanker, training in the refueling boom simulator, and a demonstration of survival equipment pilots use in emergencies.
