Honorary Air Force Col. Shane Sagraves takes a tour of the KC-135 Stratotanker, assigned to the 121st Air Refueling Wing, before the jet leaves to fly a mission on August 22, 2018 at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, in Columbus, Ohio. Shane and the rest of his family were hosted by the 121st ARW for “Pilot for a Day”, which gives kids and teens with a chronic or life threatening illness a chance to experience a day in the life of an Air National Guardsman. Shane’s busy day included a tour of the KC-135 Stratotanker, training in the refueling boom simulator, and a demonstration of survival equipment pilots use in emergencies.
