COLUMBUS, Ga. (Aug. 23, 2018) – On the Phenix City, Alabama, side of the Chattahoochee River, emergency personnel have set up a triage station for the survivors of a notional flood, different colors of different tarps indicating severity of injury. Military and civilian personnel from Latin America as part of a Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation course worked closely with local emergency services from Fort Benning and Columbus, Georgia, and Phenix City, Alabama, to rescue survivors of a notional flood, who were stranded on the islands of the Chattahoochee River in Columbus Aug. 10.
