Each year there is an Air Force Cycling Team (AFCT) team dinner during the week of Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI). The dinner is usually hosted at a church or VFW in one of the overnight towns. At the dinner, awards are given out to individuals who have stood out as support person or rider of the year. If members have family in the area, they are invited out to meet the team and share a meal. The AFCT has been in existence for the past 24 years with its mission for RAGBRAI evolving into the “Guardian Angels of The Roads”. (U.S. Air Force Photo By Andrew C. Patterson)
