The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band stands in front of an American flag during the annual Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Air Show, Sept. 30. This year’s air show theme is “A Salute to San Diego: Birthplace of Naval Aviation.” It features demonstrations by various civilian and military performers including the Blue Angels and a Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force. The flag is the “Patriot Flag,” which is flown around the country in tribute to service members and first responders and the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
