The Puerto Rico National Guard celebrated its annual National Guard Ball event at the Dr. Pedro Rosselló González Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Aug. 11.
This is the formal main event where all members of the PRNG, spouses and special guests get together to celebrate the many accomplishments of the institution throughout the past year. The protocolary part of the event was led by the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, Brig. Gen. Isabelo Rivera, and his staff. The guest speaker for this year’s event was Puerto Rico’s Secretary of Justice, Mrs. Wanda Vázquez. She spoke of the brave men and women of the PRNG who came forward amid the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and María to face the dire situation on the Island and to take part in the recovery efforts. The protocolary part of the event ended with the retirement of the official colors followed by dinner and entertainment.
