Alex is a Military Working Dog with the 16th Military Police Brigade who was injured in Afghanistan.
Like service members, when a MWD is injured in theater, they are medically evacuated to Germany. But instead of going to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, they are transported to Veterinary Medical Center Europe.
Alex underwent surgery when he arrived at VMCE and will continue to be treated and recover there for the time being.
