MINDANAO SEA – U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Scotty Galarza, an aviation technician with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 166 Reinforced, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conducts maintenance on a CH-53E Super Stallion from VMM-166 before takeoff aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during search and rescue operations for a missing Marine attached to the 13th MEU while on a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 13th MEU, August 12, 2018.
