180810-N-GX781-0052 PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago (Aug. 10, 2018) Lt. Nathan Rice, chaplain aboard the Whidbey Island-Class Dock Landing Ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), and a service member from the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment paint during a community relation event at a military cemetery in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The ship is on deployment supporting Southern Seas, which is an annual collaborative deployment in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility where a task group will deploy to conduct a variety of exercises and multinational exchanges to enhance interoperability, increase regional stability, and build and maintain regional relationships with countries throughout the region through joint, multinational and interagency exchanges and cooperation.
