    1st Armored Division

A Stryker with the 3rd Battalion, 41st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division leaves the mock city of Palmiya after taking out the opposig forces and working with the local populous, Aug. 5 at Oragrande, New Mexico during Iron Focus. The Soldiers gained the trust of the locals to identify enemies and find notional chemical weapons.

Iron Focus is a one of the largest exercises conducted on Fort Bliss and surrounding areas as part of the 1st Armored Division Commander's Combat Training Center Certification program. Every echelon of the Brigade is challenged through their ability to conduct offensive, defensive and stability operations against a hybrid threat, as well as being validated on how well they plan, prepare for and execute airspace management, joint fires integration and fires de-confliction. Iron Focus provides the commanding general a realistic platform to assess the readiness of Brigades, ensuring they are fully trained and prepared to fight across multiple domains and through contested areas for future contingency operations. Training and exercises sustain readiness, while reassuring our allies and deterring potential adversaries. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Brandon Banzhaf, 24th Press Camp Headquarters)
