Pvt. Gunner M. Whitaker, an infantryman from DeGraff, Ohio, receives firing instructions from squad leader Sgt. Diego De La Vega, an infantryman from Columbus, Ohio, both assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, during squad live fire training at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Miss., Sept. 25, as part of premobilization training. De La Vega and his squad are firing live rounds during squad movements to prepare for potential combat during their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan with 3,400 other soldiers from the brigade.
