Gen. James F. Amos, commandant of the Marine Corps, and Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Micheal P. Barrett speak with Marines in Marine Attack Squadron 513's hangar at Kandahar Airfield, Sept. 24. Kandahar was one of the many stops for Amos and Barrett on their Afghanistan tour to visit the Marine units supporting NATO and International Security Assistance Force operations. "I thought it was pretty motivating," said Lance Cpl. Rey Santiago, a VMA-513 administrative clerk and Chicago native. "Seeing anyone like that is a huge boost of confidence for the Marines." Amos and Barrett took Marines' questions pertaining to topics such as the joint strike fighter program and force allocation.
