                            Gravestones of some of the 6,012 American buried at the Oise- Aisne American Cemetery in Seringes et Nesles, France. The cemetery was the site of a ceremony marking the participation of the 42nd Division in the campaign 100 years ago. The division is now an element of the New York National Guard.Twenty-five Soldiers from the 42nd Infantry Division were in France from July 24-29 to take part in events commemorating the division's role-- and the role of the U.S. Army-- in World War I.
