FORT DRUM, N.Y. – A Soldier from 6th Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), practices newly learned self-defense techniques during a self-defense class on Fort Drum, N.Y. July 25. The hour and a half long course occurred four times over two days and was hosted by the Fort Drum Medical Activity Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Team. The purpose of the course was to teach participants the basics of reacting quickly and getting away from a would-be attacker, techniques which are useful in thwarting both physical and sexual assaults.
