According to the December 1955 issue of the Tobyhanna Reporter newspaper, 417 employees typically lined up for the Red Cross Bloodmobile and employee donations during seven semi-annual blood drives totaled 2,496 pints. Today, employees need supervisor approval to schedule appointments to give blood during the monthly blood drives. The Bloodmobile parks in front of Tobyhanna's administrative building from 8 a.m. to noon. Since January, 133 donations have been collected and that number is expected to grow through the end of the year.
