HMCS Vancouver conducts a replenishment-at-sea with USNS Carl Brashear while sailing with USS William P. Lawrence during RIMPAC 2018

180722-O-N0842-1544 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 22, 2018) With USS William P. Lawrence (left) (DDG 110) and USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7) in the background, the plan to drive the HMCS Vancouver (FFH 331) into station prior to a replenishment-at-sea is written in dry erase marker on a bridge window by Commanding Officer, Commander Christopher Nucci, during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, July 22. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world’s oceans. RIMPAC 2018 is the 26th exercise in the series that began in 1971. (Canadian Armed Forces photo by Public Affairs Officer Lt(N) Anthony Wright/Released)
