Cmdr. William Herrmann, commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York, accepts a bell from Susan Marenoff, the president of the USS Intrepid museum. The bell was used aboard the Los Angeles-class submarine USS New York City and has been on loan to the museum since New York City was decommissioned in 1997.
