Soldiers from the Combined Support Maintenance Shop work to remove two six-inch Newton-Stokes trench mortar from the Medal of Honor Park, Baltimore, Maryland on July 19, 2018. The two six-inch Newton-Stokes trench mortars, used by the Maryland National Guard 117th Trench Mortar Battery in France, during World War I, were removed for restoration and eventual preservation. The MDNG’s 117th Trench Mortar Battery one of the National Guard units that made up the 42nd Rainbow Division.
