Members of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency render honors during a chain of custody event held on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, July 17, 2018. A hearse carrying the remains of U.S. Army Pfc. Walter W. Green, who was recently identified, leaves the DPAA facility in route to his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia. Green was taken Prisoner of War (POW) Nov. 2, 1950 while fighting near Unsan, North Korea, where he perished in captivity June 30, 1951. DPAA conducts global search, recovery, and laboratory operations to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
