Sgt. Darrin Spencer, a Kokomo, Ind. native, and squad leader with 2nd Battalion, 151st Infantry Regiment, Indiana National Guard, trains with a human immersion combat simulator in which goggles worn by each soldier put them in a simulated combat environment that uses stress inoculation to improve performance in stressful situations at Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center Sept. 12 as a part of Bold Quest, a multi-national training exercise involving military members from 13 NATO countries from around the world. The system uses goggles and various other sensors worn by the soldier to put him in a virtual simulation of a combat zone.
