David Fallon, commanding officer of 9th Marine Corps District, discusses wrestling with John Geiger, a wrestler from Leander High School in Leander, Texas, during the 2018 U.S. Marine Corps Freestyle Finals in Fargo, North Dakota, July 15. The Freestyle Finals feature more than 30 top-level athletes from across the country. Wrestlers share many of the same values as those exhibited by Marines, so the Marine Corps Recruiting Command developed a national-level wrestling marketing relationship to engage the USMC’s target audience and their influencers.
