Farrell Sullivan, commanding officer, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), with a plaque, July 8, 2018, to commemorate the strong ties between the U.S. and Jordanian militaries. Components of the 26th MEU embark USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), which is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the central region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
