    180711-G-ZV557-1011 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 11, 2018) Coast Guard flight crew move across the flight deck of the USCGC Bertholf (WMSL 750) July 11, 2018, to secure a helicopter from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer helicopter ship JS Ise (DDH 182) approximately 15 miles southwest of Oahu, Hawaii, in support of RIMPAC 2018. Twenty-five nations, more than 46 ships and five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
