The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce hosted a reception for The 3rd Annual Western Hemisphere Exchange Symposium (WHES) military officials and delegates in San Antonio, Texas March 13, 2018. Chairman of the Board Shaun Kennedy and Chair-Elect Paula Gold-Williams welcomed the guests and were followed by remarks from Chef Johnny Hernandez, who highlighted the city’s Creative City of Gastronomy designation by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The WHES is hosted annually by either U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, or the U.S. Army and brings partner nations from 20 Latin-American countries together to explore topics ranging from disaster relief, anti-gang, interdiction, counter-drug operations, and airflow strategies. This year's event was hosted by the Inter-American Air Forces Academy at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. (U.S. Air Force photo by Andrew C. Patterson)
