180709-G-ZV557-1216 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (July 9, 2018) Capt. John Driscoll commanding officer of the USCGC Bertholf (WMSL 750) briefs his crew along with attached units from Maritime Security Response Team and the U.S. Navy's Black Knight MH-60 Helicopter Squadron July 9, while moored in Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in support of Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. Twenty-five nations, more than 46 ships and 5 submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
