180709-G-ZV557-1129 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (July 9, 2018) Petty Officer 1st Class Allen Martin and Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Gabanyic prepare lunch aboard the USCGC Bertholf (WMSL 750) July 9, 2018, while moored in Pearl Harbor, in support of RIMPAC 2018. Twenty-five nations, more than 46 ships and 5 submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
