A Shadow, an unmanned aircraft, prepares for a landing at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, after conducting aerial reconnaissance in the area Aug. 30. Members of the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division’s 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade Shadow platoon, operate and maintain the aircraft. With a long history of supporting U.S. military operations in Iraq, the 2/82 and its paratroopers are enabling the withdraw of U.S. military forces from Iraq.
