COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Master Sgt. Thomas Echelmeyer, 21st Aerospace Medicine Squadron Bioenvironmental Engineering noncommissioned officer in charge, was stationed at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, in 2014, so his son Tom could be treated at the Children’s Hospital since being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at 3 years old. Tom finished his chemotherapy treatments in November 2016 and continues to go to the Children’s Colorado Urgent and Outpatient Specialty Care at Briargate in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for blood tests, an intravenous immunoglobulin infusion and checkups.
