David Petraeus, commander, International Security Assistant Force and U.S. Forces Afghanistan, delivers his farewell speech to a formation of 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) soldiers, Aug. 31, at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va. Petraeus, who also served as the Multi-National Forces-Iraq commander, retired from the Army Aug. 31 and will assume his position as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency Sept. 6.
