U.S. Marines with Alpha Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division check shot groupings during a deployment for training (DFT) exercise at Fort Stewart, Ga., June 2, 2018. Marines with the unit conducted night shoots to ensure accuracy in low light situations. The DFT helps maintain proficiency in landing the surface assault element during amphibious operations to inland objectives in conjunction with mechanized operations and related combat support in operations ashore.
