Senior Airman Andrew Wheeler, 110th Attack Wing Force Support Squadron, and Tech. Sgt. Matthew Denboer, 110th Civil Engineer Squadron, Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Mich., measure, cut, and lay foam as part of the frost barrier for building groundwork construction projects, Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, as part of their annual Deployment for Training (DFT). The 110th Civil Engineer Squadron is the fourth Air National Guard rotation supporting the 435th Construction and Training Squadron, Ramstein AB, Germany. The U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) exercise-related construction projects are intended to provide temporary housing for exercise participants from the United States and its Allies. This project is especially significant for the state of Michigan as it celebrates 25 years of collaboration with Latvia as part of the National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program (SPP).
