A service member assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team from Vicenza, Italy, lays in wait with an M240 machine gun for simulation battle drills to commence near Miroslawiec, Poland, June 8, 2018. With an ambush imminent, the M240 machine gun is responsible for one of the most vital positions at the rear of the platoon during the Swift Response exercise.
