PACIFIC OCEAN (June 7, 2018) – Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Gabriel Snider, a native of Sacramento, Calif., uses a forklift to transfer Rim-7 missiles in the weapons magazine aboard Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise which certifies the combined Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit's abilities to conduct military operations at sea and project power ashore during their upcoming deployment in summer of 2018.
