Recruits must compete against each other with pugil sticks to earn a tan belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate July 20.
