COMBAT OUTPOST SHIR GHAZAY, Helmand province, Afghanistan -- Pawpaw, Mich., native Cpl. Michael A. Haught tightens a loose slip ring for a tank. The 28-year-old tank mechanic with Alpha Company, 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division (Forward), is one of 18 mechanics with the unit who work up to 20 hours a day to keep the tanks operable. Haught is also a 2001 graduate of Pawpaw High School and is currently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
