Equipment Operator Constructionman Zhen Liu and Builder 3rd Class Ryan McCullough, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, place concrete for a bond beam. The bond beam is essential to tying in the construction masonry units to the columns. The construction is for a two room school to help facilitate education of 1800 local students. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 is forward deployed to execute construction, humanitarian and foreign assistance, and theater security cooperation in support of United States Pacific Command.
