U.S. Navy Steelworker 2nd Class Tyler Ault, a Seabee with Underwater Construction Team 2 (UCT 2), sets up the Renewable Energy Area Lighting System (REALS) in Port Hueneme, California on May 25, 2018. UCT 2 is reducing its logistical footprint and resupply requirements through the adoption of innovative solutions such as expeditionary solar power and lighting systems that will enable extended time on station in austere environments with limited resupply of bulk fuel. UCT 2 provides responsive inshore and underwater construction capabilities needed to construct, inspect, repair, and maintain ocean facilities as well as underwater systems.
