A young Mongolian boy spits and rinses out his mouth while having his tooth pulled by U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jose Cardenas, a native of Hildalgo, Texas and currently assigned to the 8th Medical Group, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea and Major (Dr.) Rebecca Neitzke, a native of Grand Rapids Minn., and currently assigned to Kunsan AB, ROK, while at the two-day multinational mobile clinic in Delgerkhaan, Mongolia on July 20 in support of Pacific Angel-Mongolia, a 13th Air Force led combined humanitarian assistance operation.
U.S. soldiers, sailors and airmen worked together with Mongolian Armed
Forces, Sri Lankan Forces and National Government Organization Project
Hope in providing health care in Delgerkhaan for two days. Their team
moves to a new location every two days to spread out their coverage in
the area, while a stationary team works out of a hospital in Ondorkhaan, Mongolia. This is the fourth year of Pacific Angel, but the first time the
operation has been hosted in Mongolia. The operation helps cultivate
common bonds and foster goodwill between the United States, Mongolia
and other regional nations. In addition to veterinary training, a clinic is being refurbished and medical outreach events are being held in Ondorkhaan, Delgerkhaan and Tsenkhermandal soums of the Hentii province from July 18-23.
