Lance Cpl. Rene Estrada, a food service specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron and a Los Angeles native, prepares chicken parmesan for the Maj. Gen. W. P. T. Hill Memorial Award for Food Service Excellence pre-inspection at Gonzalez Messhall aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Aug. 2. The object of the evaluation is to decide which mess hall from the West Coast will represent Marine Corps Installations West in December when Headquarters Marine Corps conducts the same evaluation to determine the leading mess hall in the Marine Corps.
