Sailors assigned to Combined Task Group 56.1 shows members of the United Arab Emirates presidential special guard team how to use metal detectors to search for improvised explosive devices during Iron Response 2011. Iron Response is an annual bilateral engagement between U.S. Navy EOD and the United Arab Emirates PSG intended to promote interoperability and tactical proficiency in response tactics, techniques and procedures. The U.S. Navy routinely participates in exercises throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility to increase the tactical proficiency of our U.S., coalition, and regional navies.
