DAHLGREN, Va. (May 17, 2017) – Master Chief Fire Controlman Nathaniel Melvin holds the C.J. Rorie Award moments after receiving it from Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) leadership at the command’s annual honor awards ceremony. Melvin was recognized for outstanding service as the NSWCDD Command Master Chief. Melvin also provided prompt technical responses to Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Complex in Romania and USS Benfold (DDG 65) underway while conducting national tasking, according to the citation.
