Master Sgt. Jordan Lawrence, independent duty medical technician with the 820th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nev., presents a graduation certificate to Cheryl Henar for completing the Emergency First Responders course as part of New Horizons July 29, 2011. Lawrence taught 27 civilians who work as ambulance drivers and security guards from the hospital on how to conduct basic life saving skills. The skills the students learned will allow them to help assist the nurses in emergency situations. New Horizons is a cooperative humanitarian mission between the Suriname government and the United States Southern Command with the goal of helping to improve the quality of life for the people of Suriname.
