Chief Master Sgt. Lee Horstman, South Dakota National Guard's New Horizons construction coordinator, updates Lt .Col. John Blackwell, task force commander New Horizons Suriname 2011, on the status of the renovations at Pater van der Pluym School in the District of Brokopondo. Once improvements are completed, the school building is scheduled to host a New Horizons Medical Readiness Exercise beginning Aug.15. New Horizons is a cooperative humanitarian mission between the Suriname government and the U.S. Southern Command with the goal of helping to improve the quality of life for the people of Suriname.
