JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 23, 2018) Kristen Guirlinger, a histopathology technician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s laboratory, examines of a gall blander. Guirlinger, a native of Deland, Florida, who has only been at the hospital for a few weeks, says “I previously served as a hospital corpsman and I’m excited to be back on the Navy Medicine team. I still get to be a part of the mission, just not in uniform.” Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 22- 28, is a celebration of medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in health care and patient advocacy.
