Lance Cpl. George Mack (left) and Lance Cpl. Christopher Mayen both, India Battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines (I 2/10) man their M249 machine guns. The Marines are standing this post in order to safeguard vulnerable areas in the I 2/10 area of responsibility. I 2/10 is deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
