U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 24, 2018) Members of the U.S. Embassy in Jordan disembark an MV-22 Osprey, attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 reinforced, on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) April 24, 2018. Iwo Jima is in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations participating in Eager Lion, a capstone training engagement that provides U.S. Forces and the Jordan Armed Forces an opportunity to rehearse operating in a coalition environment and to pursue new ways to collectively address threats to regional security and improve overall maritime security.
