Lance Cpl. Maverick T. Hawkins is an MV-22B Osprey crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162, deployed out of Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C. Hawkins, a native of Bellingham, Wash., is currently deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward). Hawkins said he joined the Marine Corps to follow in his father's footsteps.
