Staff Sgt. Dequence Sherman, the company gunnery sergeant of Headquarters and Service Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 4, addresses the audience during a toast at the 3rd Marine Logistics Group 60th birthday celebration dinner April 20, 2018 at Butler Officers’ Club, Okinawa, Japan. In 1958, 3rd MLG was stood up as 3rd Force Support Regiment at Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan under 3rd Marine Division. Since then, the unit has evolved over the decades to become a logistical powerhouse of the Pacific region, supplying countless combat and humanitarian operations over the last six decades.
