In 1958, 3rd MLG was stood up as 3rd Force Support Regiment at Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan under 3rd Marine Division. Since then, the unit has evolved over the decades to become a logistical powerhouse of the Pacific region, supplying countless combat and humanitarian operations over the last six decades.
