Col. Christopher Baril, U.S. Army North Exercise Branch Chief, holds an azimuth brief with the exercise support staff at Camp Atterbury, Indiana on April 19, 2018 during Exercise Vibrant Response. The azimuth brief acts as a way for key leadership to synchronize the exercise and assess the training units’ progress.
U.S. Army North executes the annual Vibrant Response consequence management exercise at the direction of U.S. Northern Command to confirm command and control elements of the nation’s CBRN response forces. U.S. Force Command’s linked exercise, Guardian Response, held at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, validates how the subordinate units train to carry out the operations under the direction of a joint task force. GR18 is executed by the U.S. Army Reserve Command. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Michael Davis Jr.)
